When we first opened again in November, the young people told us that they would like the Community Open Project to be a weekly thing instead of bi-weekly.
The Chair and Trustees listened and have been tirelessly working on getting funds for a paid Youth Worker who will be supported by our volunteers.
We are now in the final stages in our main bid with a Children in Need grant, to support a youth worker for 3 years. Hopefully this grant will be in our favour and from September we should be able to open weekly.
However, if this funding is not successful, all will not be lost because there is a Plan B. We have identified that the winter months are critical for the young people of Radcliffe on Trent and surrounding areas; with a smaller amount of money we will be able to open during those months for somewhere to go to keep warm, have some hot homely food and listen to music on Friday nights.
We hope to hear by the end of May for the outcome, please check back to the website for more information soon.
